We’ve been getting a lot of questions about Kelowna Event Centre and theBLOC.
Here’s a quick overview of what we’re building, how the space is operating, and what’s coming next.
Isn’t this building getting torn down?
There is a potential future development planned for the property, but that is still over a year out. Right now, we are actively operating and building this space for creatives, events, and community use. There is no immediate timeline affecting what’s happening here.
How much are memberships?
We are currently finalizing our membership models. Full details will be released as part of our formal launch very soon, with more to come at our April 25 theBLOC Party.
Who operates Kelowna Event Centre and theBLOC?
The building is owned by a private ownership group that purchased the property two years ago and is now leading the direction of the space. They have taken over operations and management of Kelowna Event Centre Inc and theBLOC, and the team is working directly with ownership to build out the vision moving forward.
Are you still hosting main shows? I heard the sound wasn’t great.
Yes — we are still actively producing shows.
We’re currently redesigning the main stage, improving acoustic treatment, and upgrading overall sound quality throughout the room. We’re excited to share these improvements with the community very soon.
